Liquid Family - meet Desiree Lopez
It’s my pleasure to continue our unfolding of the Liquid Family Team. A key part of our success is the varied and essential role each team member plays, today’s portrait is a perfect example of this – meet Desiree Lopez.
Desiree is Liquid's cherished Staff Accountant. She's a person that brings both skill, passion, joy, and every now and then also lovely cakes, to our office.
Hi Desiree, can you please tell us about yourself and your role at Liquid?
Desiree: I am the Staff Accountant; this entails preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting/forecasting, and evaluating our accounting systems..
What got you to join Liquid?
Desiree: I have been with Liquid for almost a year now; my immediate draw to Liquid was that I had never heard of, let alone thought about, “liquid food processing” – which piqued my interest. But it was also very important to me to work for a company that provides me with purpose and growth, not just a paycheck; I believed in Liquid’s mission statement, and I have come to trust our leadership/team.
How would you explain what Liquid does and which values we try to deliver to our customers?
Desiree: Liquid does many things, but from my perspective (which is limited because I’m behind a desk and know next to nothing about engineering or field service) we strive to help our customers to improve their businesses. I believe Daniel was quoted as saying “we take away your headaches” which summaries the effort we put into the services we offer our customers – and even from my finite perspective, I do see how hard our staff works to meet the needs of our customers and each other.
Where do you see that Liquid does a difference for our customers?
Desiree: One quality I find in Liquid that is very important, to myself personally but also to our customers, is Integrity. We strive to have integrity in all aspects of our company, and I think our customers trust us to do our best for them.

What are the best parts about working at Liquid?
Desiree: One of the best parts about working for Liquid is the appreciation and recognition they give to their employees, and not just the leadership team, but peer-to-peer. We also have a talented team of hardworking, like-minded people that make my work life more enjoyable. I have never worked for a company that has as much empathy as I’ve seen here at Liquid. I know this may sound cliché, but it is truly my pleasure to work for Liquid and be a part of our team here.
Can you tell us one thing outside of work that you are passionate about?
Desiree: Music! I was raised in a musical family and growing up I never lost my passion for it. I took choir throughout school, I sing at church, I enjoy a night out of karaoke, I read sheet music, I taught myself to play piano, and I dabble with the violin & guitar.
